Florida Cardiology P.A. and Nudj Health Develop Lifestyle Medicine Program

ORLANDO, Fla. (May 23, 2023) – Florida Cardiology P.A. has partnered with Nudj Health, a tech-enabled health service that partners with providers nationwide to deliver telehealth mental health, lifestyle interventions, and lifestyle medicine programs to patients. Nudj Health achieves this by using the collaborative care model to bring lifestyle medicine and wellness into patient care.

Now, cardiologists at Florida Cardiology can prescribe the Nudj program to their patients as a preventive cardiology tool. This preventive cardiology focus will help improve their heart health and reduce depression, anxiety, and blood pressure by empowering patients to think about and act on their lifestyles differently.

The connection between cardiac disease and behavioral and mental health is strong:

  • $363 billion spent annually on heart disease1
  • 50% of American adults have heart disease2
  • 20-30% of cardiac patients suffer from mental health issues, like depression3
  • 80% of cardiovascular disease can be prevented4

“Our goal is to bring quality healthcare to our patients, and we’re always looking for new ways to enhance our services to better improve patient outcomes,” stated Dr. Sandeep Bajaj, President of Florida Cardiology. “We are excited to partner with Nudj Health to deliver a new lifestyle medicine approach to our patients to help them improve their heart health and overall wellness.”

Founded in Pasadena, Calif. in 2021, Nudj Health delivers integrated, whole-person, and continuous care for patients with chronic disease beyond the walls of the doctor’s office. The company provides collaborative care using evidence-based therapeutic interventions centered around six interconnected lifestyle areas: stress management, physical activity, sleep quality, social support, behavioral risks, and nutrition.

Nudj Health’s services have demonstrated effectiveness in the treatment of moderate to severe depression, anxiety, and insomnia with scores decreasing by 42-52% within 12 weeks, as well as a reduction or maintenance of blood pressure and weight, improved mobility, improved medication adherence, and improved connections with family, community, and Nudj Health support systems. “Nudj Health will integrate behavioral and mental health or ‘Cardiac Wellness’ into Florida Cardiology’s practice to improve outcomes, enhance patient and provider satisfaction, and reduce acute care and outpatient utilization,” stated Yuri Sudhakar, founder and chief executive officer of Nudj Health, elaborating on the company’s latest preventive cardiology collaboration. “We look forward to delivering whole-person care to Florida Cardiology’s patients and helping them live a healthier life.”
